Our Holiday Hours

ARCHERS HOLIDAY SCHEDULE WILL BE:
DECEMBER 24TH. CHRISTMAS EVE WE WILL BE CLOSED
DECEMBER 25TH. CHRISTMAS DAY WE WILL BE CLOSED
DECEMBER 31ST. NEW YEARS EVE WE WILL BE OPEN

customer dosn't want to pay

Hello everyone, I'm sorry I haven't been blogging in a long time. I open up a store at 7134 market street unit 9 and has been taking alot of my time. I would like to share a story with everyone. If I'm wrong please tell me. I had a call from a young lady the other day about a dishwasher. She called and said that the dishwasher wasn't working and she ask if i could come over and check it for her. We set up a time for me to be there and so i went and found that the dishwasher had a bad motor. I gave her a price and ask if she needed to call her landlord and see what she wanted to do. She then told me that her landlord told her to just get it fix so go ahead and order the motor. I said great I'll call you as soon as I get it. When i got the motor a couple of days after I called her to let her know that the motor was in and set up a time to install. We set the time. A few hours before the appointment she calls me and said that her landlord told her to cancel the service call. At that time I told the young lady that was find but her landlord was going to have to pay the labor charge and the restocking fee on the motor. She said that she was going to have to talk to her landlord and call me back. About 9:00 that night my phone rings and it was the landlord. She told me that she wasn't going to pay that bill because I didn't talk to her about it first. I told her If she doesn't pay it then I was going to take her to court. Am I wrong for that. Please let me know what everyone thinks the right thing to do in this matter. Hope everyone is doing great. take care

Appliances Are Worth Fixing

Hello, hope everyone is doing well. A frequent question that I get asked from my customers when they first call is if their appliance is worth fixing or should they just go and buy a new one. If I had to put it on a scale I would say that 98% of appliances are worth fixing. For example I had a call this morning from a customer that told me that her refrigerator would stop cooling.  She could cut if off for 1-2 hours, plug it back up and it worked fine for a week or two. She went to a home improvement store and they told her that appliances these days are disposable.

And the warranty company said their wasn't anything wrong with the microwave!!!

Hello, I hope that everyone had a great Easter. A good friend and a neighbor of mine called be a couple of weeks ago and asked me could I do warranty work in Wilmington. I told him that Wilmington isn't in my zip code area for warranty work but I'll be glad to look at it for him. He said that he would call the warranty department and let me know what they said. A week or so went by and he called me and told me that a appliance company in Wilmington (not going to say their name) came out to his house and looked at the microwave and told him that it was normal for his microwave to produce a lot of steam.
